Yazd is located in the center of Iran and is neighboring with the provinces of Isfahan, South Khorasan, Kerman, and Fars. In the spring and summer seasons, the weather in most parts of the province is warm and dry, and in winter and autumn, it is cold and relatively humid. Yazd is the second city in Iran after Bam, which has been registered at UNESCO.
In some sources, the early construction of some of the province’s cities has been attributed to King Solomon, Zahak, Alexander the Great, and Abraham the Prophet.
The word “Yazd” means pure and holy, and the city of Yazd also refers to the city of God and the holy land.
