Qazvin province, with neighboring Mazandaran, Gilan, Hamedan, Zanjan, Central and Alborz provinces. With only 1 percent of the country’s land area, the province is responsible for nearly 8 percent of Iran’s economy and production.

The province is one of the historic provinces of Iran and has a lot of ancient monuments, with 11% of the country’s national historical monuments located in Qazvin province and ranked first in Iran.

During the reign of Shah Tahmasb Safavid, the city of Qazvin became the capital of Iran and for half a century it was the capital of Iran.
